Well Testing
Specialist course in well test design and analysis

About this course
Planning well tests and interpreting pressure and flow-rate data to assess reservoir properties, well performance and flow boundaries.
What you’ll learn
Well testing objectives, test programme design and data requirements.
Collecting and verifying the quality of pressure and flow data.
Analysing pressure drawdown and buildup tests, and estimating permeability and skin factor.
Diagnostic and derivative plots, and wellbore storage effects.
Testing gas and condensate wells, multiphase flow and non-Darcy flow effects.
Identifying reservoir boundaries, recharge and connectivity between reservoir sections.
Interpreting tests in horizontal wells and multilayer and fractured reservoirs.
Interference, injection and volume pulse tests, and preparing interpretation and uncertainty reports.
Days and teaching hours
12 days, totalling 40 hours: 10 days of theory (3 hours per day), one practical day (8 hours), and one examination day (2 hours).
Who is this course for?
Reservoir, production, petroleum and well testing engineers, and field operations and well performance monitoring teams.
